Georg Kell
Executive Director, the United Nations Global
Compact
Georg Kell is the executive director of the United Nations Global Compact,
the world's largest voluntary corporate citizenship. Following extensive
experiences in Africa and Asia as a financial analyst, Kell began his career
at the UN in Geneva, where he worked from 1987 to 1990 with the UN
Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). In 1990, he joined the New
York office of UNCTAD, which he headed from 1993 to 1997. In 1997, Kell
became a senior officer in the Executive Office of UN Secretary-General Kofi
Annan, responsible for fostering cooperation with the private sector. He has
served as head of the UN Global Compact since 2000. A native of Germany,
Kell holds advanced degrees in economics and engineering from the Technical

Stanley Litow is IBM's Vice President for Corporate Citizenship & Corporate
Affairs and President of its Foundation. He heads global corporate
citizenship efforts and corporate social responsibility at IBM across over
170 countries. Under his leadership, IBM has developed innovative voice
recognition technology to help non literate children and adults learn to
read, automatic language translation and bi lingual email, open source
technology to help people with disabilities access the web, a humanitarian
grid to power research on Cancer and AIDS and new digital imaging technology
to improve water quality. He conceived Reinventing Education, a program
serving over 100,000 teachers and 10 million children globally and helped
devise IBM's Global Citizen's Portfolio consisting of matching accounts for
learning and a corporate version of the Peace Corps called the Corporate
Services Corps to train 600 future IBM leaders. IBM's efforts in education
have raised student achievement and won the company two Ron Brown Award's
presented by the President. IBM contributes over $160 million annually and
has over 110,000 employee volunteers providing nearly 7 million hours of
service globally.
Before joining IBM, he served as the Deputy Chancellor of Schools for New
York City, the nation's largest school system, and prior to that he founded
and ran Interface, the non profit "think tank" and served as an aide to both
the Mayor and Governor of New York.
Stanley's articles and essays have appeared in numerous books and
publications including the Yale Law Review, Annual Survey of American Law,
Brookings Papers, the American Academy of Sciences, the Journal for the
Center for National Policy, Education Week, the Urban School's Journal as
well as the New York Times and Newsday.
Stanley is a recipient of the Council on Foundation's prestigious Scrivner
Award for creative philanthropy and awards from the Anne Frank Center,
Martin Luther King Commission, Manhattanville College, Federation of
Protestant Welfare Agencies, Coro Foundation, Helen Keller Services to the
Blind, and the Women's City Club. He has taught at New School University,
the City University of New York and Long Island University.
He chairs the Global Leadership Network and serves on the board of Harvard
Business School's Social Enterprise Initiative, Independent Sector,

SAI is a global standards-setting organization dedicated to improving
workplaces and communities. SA8000 is based on United Nations and ILO
Conventions and Declarations, and on the ISO management systems. SAI
contracts with Social Accountability Accreditation Agency (SAAS) to license
qualified organizations to verify compliance with the SA8000 Standard. Alice
is also Adjunct Professor of Markets and Ethics at NYU’s Stern School of
Business.
She founded the Council on Economic Priorities (CEP) in 1969 and served as
President & CEO for 33 years. CEP pioneered the social investment field and
regularly published the best selling consumer guide, “Shopping for a Better
World”. Ms. Tepper Marlin has been a frequent public speaker on corporate
accountability for three decades. Her numerous other publications include:
Rating America’s Corporate Conscience (Addison-Wesley, 1987)
Earlier, Alice served as a Securities Analyst and Labor Economist at Burnham
& Co., and as the editor of an international tax journal at the

budget and on schedule and provides MasterCard with the leading payments
processing platform in the industry. The globally deployed software and

annually and is responsible for the transfer of more than $1 trillion
dollars between financial institutions each year.
Prior to joining MasterCard, Rob held IT and business leadership positions
with Sprint Corp., Cleveland Pneumatic, Totco Inc., and Conoco Inc.
Rob serves on the University of Missouri-St. Louis Leadership Council,

and North America. She also moved cross-functionally into Ford's material
planning and logistics organization where she spent six years in various
global production planning and scheduling positions as well as leading the
Order-to-Delivery reengineering initiative.
Before joining Ford, Adriana accumulated a breadth of automotive and defense
industry experience including the development of microprocessor-based
welding controls and gauging inspection devices at Medar, Inc.; test
engineering at Volkswagen of America; and thermoforming process engineering
at GM's Fisher Body Division. Adriana also held positions in scheduling as
part of the shipping industry in Athens, Greece.
Adriana received an Academic Excellence Award jointly from Wayne State
University and Ford Motor Company. She is fluent in the Greek language.
Adriana served as a member of the advisory board for the Michigan Council of
Women in Technology (MCWT) and effective January 2008, was elected president
of the organization.

Don came to Armstrong in March 2002 from OfficeMax where he was vice

domestic SAP projects at the time. Early in his career, he was project
manager at NASA’s Glenn Research Center. At NASA, he was instrumental in

Chief Information Officer, State of Minnesota
Gopal Khanna was appointed Minnesota's first State CIO by
Governor Tim Pawlenty on August 15, 2005, and unanimously
confirmed by the State Senate on March 20, 2006. Gopal was
appointed to a second term by Governor Pawlenty effective
January 2, 2007, and, again, unanimously confirmed by the State
Senate January 17, 2007. Minnesota's Executive Branch spends an
estimated $600 million per year on information technology
through 66 different agencies with 2400 staff and 1000 networks,
and operates over 500 websites.
Gopal is currently president of the National Association of
State CIOs (NASCIO).
Prior to assuming his position with the State of Minnesota,
Gopal served in the administration of President George W. Bush
in Washington, D.C., from June 2002 through August 2005, and is
credited with leading major reforms in the federal government.
As the CIO and CFO of the U.S. Peace Corps, he was responsible
for the successful implementation of a standardized computing
platform for the Peace Corps' 72 posts worldwide; design and
implementation of an enterprise architecture program that serves
as the framework for the agency's systems modernization
strategy; and transformation of financial management systems
that resulted in the issuance of the first set of audited
financial statements in the agency's 43-year history.
Prior to his leadership role in government, Gopal was in the
private sector where he held several corporate senior leadership
positions. He has a broad-based management background which
includes experience in information technology, finance,
operations, strategic planning, business development, and
consulting.
From 1996 to 2002, Gopal was president and CEO of International
Technology Consultants, Inc. From 1990 to 1996, he was with the
American Hardware Insurance Group, a Minneapolis-based property
and casualty insurance group, where he held several positions
including vice president of operations, vice president of
systems, and vice president of information technology and
administration. From 1981 to 1990, he was with the National
Council on Compensation Insurance in Boca Raton, Florida, where
he held several positions including director of operations and
director of strategic planning. Prior to that, Gopal lived in
New York where he held positions in marketing, sales management,
merchandising, and corporate training and development with the
MONY Financial Services Group.
Gopal has a long history of civic and charitable involvement. He
has served on several professional and community boards and is
currently a member of the board of trustees of the Hindu Society

Howard A. Schmidt has had a distinguished career in defense, law enforcement
and corporate security spanning almost 40 years. He most recently served in
the position of Chief Security Strategist for the U.S. CERT Partners Program
for the National Cyber Security Division, Department of Homeland Security.
He retired from the White House after 31 years in public service. He was
appointed by President Bush as the Vice Chair of Critical Infrastructure
Protection and as the Special Adviser for Cyberspace Security in 2001. Prior
to the White House, he was chief security officer for Microsoft Corp.
Howard was with the FBI at the National Drug Intelligence Center, where he
headed the Computer Exploitation Team.
Howard served with the U.S. Air Force in various roles from 1967 to 1983,
and
as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves he is a Special Agent in the Criminal
Investigation Division .
He also serves as the international president of the ISSA and was the first
president of IT-ISAC. He served as an augmented member to the President’s
Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology in the formation of an
Institute for Information Infrastructure Protection.
Howard has been appointed to the ISPAB to advise the National Institute of
Standards and Technology, the Secretary of Commerce and the Director of the
Office of Management and Budget on information security and privacy issues
pertaining to Federal Government information systems.

Steve Moffett

Steve is a former executive of Intuit Inc., a leading provider of business

QuickBooks, Quicken, and TurboTax software.
Prior to joining Intuit, Steve worked with the parent company of NASDAQ,
Citicorp, and numerous other groups in software process improvement based
upon the teachings of Dr. Deming and Carnegie Mellon’s Software Engineering
Institute (SEI). Steve was the first person authorized by SEI to train and
evaluate teams of SEI qualified assessors to evaluate and help improve

across the United States Air Force.

Kevin Walker

Kevin Walker is senior vice president and chief information officer for
American Electric Power. Previously, he was president and chief operating
officer for AEP Ohio, serving approximately 1.44 million customers in Ohio
and the northern West Virginia panhandle, with authority for distribution
operations and a wide range of customer and regulatory relationships.
Before joining AEP in 2004, Kevin was vice president, Maintenance and
Construction Services, for Consolidated Edison of New York, including the
five boroughs of New York City and Westchester. Kevin was instrumental in
directing recovery of energy service following the collapse of the World
Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.
Kevin spent approximately 13 years with Consolidated Edison in various
leadership positions. He served as Waterside Plant Manager, Steam Operations
Department Manager, and as New York City public affairs liaison was the
primary interface with the New York City mayor’s office during the
administration of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Kevin also served for more
than six years as a Captain in the United States Army.
Kevin serves as board chair for the Ohio Business Development Coalition, and
the Columbus/Franklin County Community Action Agency Task Force. He serves
on the board of various organizations and is board advisor for Comprehensive
Development Inc., a nonprofit organization that supports mentoring and
development programs for the Manhattan Comprehensive Night and Day High
School.
In 2005, Kevin Walker was recognized by Black Enterprise Magazine as one of
corporate America’s 75 top black business leaders. He was also featured in
the 2006 edition of Who’s Who in Black Columbus (Ohio). In 1999, he received
the Harlem YMCA’s Black Achiever in Industry Award.

Ken G. Fulmer

Ken Fulmer is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Sunoco and part of
the IT leadership team at Sunoco. He has been with Sunoco for 25 years, in
various positions within the Information Technology field. His current
responsibilities as CTO include managing the Project Management Office (PMO),
the IT planning and application architecture group. He is also directing the
enabling layer of applications including SOA and EAI, Web Services, Portals,
Document Management, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing.
Ken started at Sun Oil (as it was then known) in the Commercial products
group. He then managed the Sun Information Services (now Sungard) consulting
group of over 200 consultants, leading projects in the government and
financial services sector. He later managed a series of large internal
projects for various business segments in Sunoco, including introducing the
Cstore systems, implementing a pipeline financial tracking system,
implementing the refinery maintenance and asset management system, HES
systems, and replacing the financial and procurement systems. He also
managed the IT development
for treasury, tax, and business line performance and sales reporting groups.
Prior to his current role, Ken managed Sunoco's backoffice and financial
applications, as well as being the IT director for the Mid-America business
line. He has also lead several business process re-engineering teams, and
was part of the corporate quality program at Sunoco for IT.

Ben Grimes

Ben Grimes is Chief Technology Officer of Avocent. Prior to joining Avocent,
Ben had a 17-year career with IBM, most recently in the appointed position
of
Distinguished Engineer, an executive position he held from 2002 to 2007. In
that role, he served as the lead architect for software development for IBM
xSeries and blades. That position overlapped with a two year special
assignment in which he worked directly with large financial institutions to
develop industry-specific customizations for software products.
Ben’s earlier years with IBM included five years as the lead designer and
engineer for embedded systems management for xSeries after serving as a
programmer in embedded firmware. He was awarded 9 patents for his
innovations in systems software.

Dan Ariely is the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Behavioral Economics at MIT,
where he holds a joint appointment between MIT's Program in Media Arts and

Study at Princeton.
At MIT, Dan is the principal investigator of the Media Lab's eRationality

experiments that illuminate day-to-day irrationality in decision-making and
creating software solutions to overcome persistent human shortcomings.
As a behavioral economist, Dan studies how people actually act in the
marketplace, as opposed to how they should or would perform if they were
completely rational. His interests span a wide range of daily behaviors such
as buying (or not), saving (or not), procrastination, dishonesty, and

Elizabeth Hackenson is the Chief Information Officer for Alcatel-Lucent and
was named to this position at the time of the merger between Alcatel and

Lucent in April of 2006, she held the position of Executive Vice President

Financial Buyers Groups in Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas, and New York.
In 1997, he joined the Petroleum Trading Group at Koch Industries assigned
primarily to acquisition due diligence and development of the new petroleum
and derivatives trading floor in London. He led merger and acquisition
diligence for various refineries and petroleum distillation operations in
Rotterdam, London, Luxembourg, Breda, and Dusseldorf. He also supported
petroleum-trading operations in Wichita, London, and Singapore.
After returning from London in 1998, he resumed his employment with Bank of
America. In 2001, he assumed responsibility for business planning and
project management of Bank of America's Global Corporate Investment Bank,
Global Treasury Services, and the Asset Management Group's network and data
center infrastructure. He managed $163 million in expense allocations and
over $69 million in annual capital expenditures on behalf of the
shareholders.

Auditor. During his 19 years as an auditor, Christopher planned and oversaw
information technology audit work done on large government computer systems.
Christopher also provided state of the art technology tools and training for
audit professionals. Christopher is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA),
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and a Certified Information
Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Christopher is active in many professional
organizations and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Multi
State Information Sharing and Analysis Center. He also sits on the

Harry D. Raduege, Jr. retired after serving
35 years in the U.S. military. He worked in the areas of technology,
including telecommunications, space, information and network operations. He
served more than 17 years in joint duty assignments. In his last position,
he led Department of Defense netcentric operations as the director of the
Defense Information Systems Agency. In that role, Harry directed planning,
engineering and implementation of interoperable communications and
intelligence systems serving the needs of the president, the secretary of
defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, combatant commanders and the military
services. Notably, he led efforts to restore communications to the Pentagon
following the September 11 terrorist attacks; upgraded presidential
communications; and led the successful expansion of the department's Global
Information Grid through a $1 billion transformational communications
program.
Harry was also appointed by the secretary of defense as the commander of the
Joint Task Force for Global Network Operations, and as deputy commander for
Global Network Operations and Defense for the U.S. Strategic Command. In
these roles, he was the first commander assigned responsibility for
directing the operation and defense of the Global Information Grid to ensure
timely and secure netcentric capabilities across the entire department.
Harry also served as the manager of the National Communications System and
led the nation's efforts to prioritize the restoration of telecommunications
throughout New York City and the Pentagon following the 9/11 attacks.
Prior to his last assignments, Harry directed command and control systems
for North American Aerospace Defense Command, U.S. Space Command and Air
Force Space Command. He also served as the chief information officer for all
three commands, was the architect for computer network defense and attack
capabilities established within the Department of Defense, and was the
national spokesman for the department during the successful "Year 2000"
computer rollover efforts. Harry directed command and control communications
at the U.S. Central Command for three years, including the relocation
efforts required after the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, he served as the first commander of the Air Force C4 Agency and was
the Joint Chiefs of Staff architect for all satellite communications
supporting more than 500,000 deployed military members during the Gulf War
in 1991.
Harry serves as a senior counselor to The Cohen Group; on the World Board of
Governors of the United Services Organizations (USO); on the Executive
Council of the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium (NCOIC); as
co-chair of the Center for Strategic and International Studies’ (CSIS)
Commission on Cyber Security for the 44th Presidency; as a member of the
Center for U.S. Global Engagement’s National Security Advisory Council; and
on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Armed Forces
Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) International. He also
serves as an advisor to the Defense Science Board, and is a member of the
Board of Trustees and chairs the Technology Committee for Capital University
in Columbus, Ohio.

William F. Pelgrin is the Director of the NYS Office of Cyber Security &
Critical Infrastructure Coordination (CSCIC) and the Chief Cyber Security
Officer for New York State. William has been actively involved in cyber
security issues since 1996 and was asked to lead CSCIC upon its creation in
2002 in recognition of his leadership and expertise in cyber security.
William is responsible for directing New York State's efforts regarding
cyber readiness and resilience, and geographic information technologies,
especially in emergencies, where CSCIC is the single point-of-contact. The
CSCIC has established a 7x24 Cyber Security Center to analyze and respond to
intrusions and other anomalous cyber activity; deployed intrusion/prevention
detection architecture for critical segments of the State’s network and
computing infrastructure; developed statewide cyber security policies;
implemented statewide cyber security training for state and local
government; and enhanced the capabilities of the State’s critical
infrastructure application to assist in responding to any emergency.
William also chairs the Public/Private Sector Cyber Security Workgroup,
which comprises a talented cadre of senior representatives from State and
local government, academia, the private sector from not only New York, but
New Jersey, as well as the federal government. He has brought together a
diverse community that is working collaboratively to enhance cyber security
in the public and private sectors for the collective benefit of all.
William established the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center
(MS-ISAC) in January 2003 in recognition of the need for collaboration
across states to better prevent, detect, respond to and recover from cyber
incidents. The MS-ISAC has representation from all 50 states, the District
of Columbia, local governments and U.S. Territories and serves as a
collaborative mechanism to share information regarding cyber security
issues. Because of the success of the MS-ISAC, the U.S. Department of
Homeland Security has recognized the MS-ISAC for its proactive role in
coordinating state and local government cyber readiness and response.

Mark Weatherford was appointed to his position as Director and Chief

Dick Schaeffer is the Information Assurance Director at the National
Security Agency (NSA). The Information Assurance Directorate (IAD) is
responsible for the availability of products, services, technology and
standards for protecting and defending our nation’s critical information
systems from adversaries in cyber space. IAD is a key contributor to the
Information Assurance Strategy to protect the Department of Defense’s (DoD)
Global Information Grid (GIG) and other National Security Systems of the
U.S. government. It supports ongoing military operations by delivering
solutions that enable the secure and dynamic sharing of information between
and across security domains at multiple classification and sensitivity
levels.
Collaboration and partnerships with the DoD, intelligence community, allies,
academia, and industry is key to IAD’s success. Additionally, IAD’s
partnership with colleges, universities and Service academies, through its
Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) program, continues to produce a growing
number of Information Assurance professionals for the government and
industry workforce.
Prior to leading the IA Mission at NSA, Dick was Chief of the National
Security Operations Center (NSOC). NSOC manages the U.S. Cryptologic System
around the clock, serving as the command-and-control center for
time-sensitive operations and crisis response. Other major assignments have
included IA Deputy Director; Acting Associate Director of Research; NSA
Deputy Chief of Staff; and Director, Infrastructure and Information
Assurance, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Command, Control,
Communications and Intelligence). He has held positions as Chief, IA
Research Office; Chief, Network Security Infrastructure Office; Deputy
Chief, Office of Developmental Systems Security Evaluations; Deputy Chief,
Tactical Systems Security Office; Deputy Chief, Weapons Systems Office;
Chief, Special Projects Division as well as various engineering and
management positions. Richard served in the United States Marine Corps,
including two tours in Vietnam.

Stephen Brobst is the chief technology officer for Teradata Corporation. He
is widely regarded as a leading expert in data warehousing and joined the
Teradata team in October of 1999. Previously, Stephen successfully launched

in the data warehousing and e-business marketplaces: Tanning Technology
Corporation (IPO on NASDAQ), NexTek Solutions (acquired by IBM) and
Strategic Technologies & Systems (acquired by NCR). Stephen also taught
graduate courses at Boston University and the Massachusetts Institute of

Dr. Melodie Mayberry-Stewart serves as New York State Chief Information

information technology advisor and a member of the Governor’s cabinet,
Melodie develops, implements and oversees IT investments for the State of
New York, a $130 billion enterprise with over 190,000 employees serving a
statewide population of 19 million. The State has approximately 5,600 IT

annually.
Melodie, a veteran of IT, started her career in Information Technology 30
years ago as a Systems Engineer for the IBM Corporation. Subsequently, she
worked as an IT executive in two Fortune 20 companies, the largest
healthcare hospital in the country, and in the public and private non-profit
sectors.
During her 13 years with IBM, she quickly rose through the ranks and served
as an Instructor in Database and Data Communications at the IBM Advanced
Technical Education Center in Los Angeles and authored several courses
published by Science Research Associates.
After leaving a successful career at IBM, Dr. Mayberry-Stewart became a
Chief Information Officer in the health care industry as the first CIO at
Community Health Corporation, (California), St. Thomas Hospital (Tennessee)
and Beth Israel Medical Center (New York). After 14 years in healthcare IT,
she turned her interest to the energy industry where she became a Vice
President and General Manager of Shared IT Services and Global IT Delivery
for the Amoco Corporation, with global headquarters in Chicago, and was
acquired by BP Oil in the UK.
Melodie has worked extensively with non-profit companies to help their
organizations better serve their constituents. Her work brought her to the
attention of the newly elected Mayor of Cleveland, Ohio. In 2002 he
appointed her as the City’s first Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and CIO. In
May 2007, Dr. Mayberry-Stewart was appointed NYS CIO and Director of the NYS
Office for Technology.
Melodie has been nationally recognized in InformationWeek’s 2009 Government
CIO 50 list. In addition, she received numerous honors including,

also led the technology integration plan supporting the formation of Cendant
Travel Group, which brought together all travel-related business units of
the company.
Gibson began his hotel technology career with Ramada, and followed that with
a six-year term with Anasazi, where he managed projects to develop and
deliver custom reservation systems to four major hotel companies.

Harry Lewis stumbled upon computer programming through a part-time job, and
fell in love with the emerging field. Lewis’s undergraduate thesis, written
under the direction of computer graphics pioneer Ivan Sutherland, was on
handwriting recognition, parsing handwritten mathematical notation, and
their
use in experimental mathematics. Harry served for two years as a
commissioned
officer of the US Public Health Service at the National Institutes of Health
in Bethesda, Maryland, doing work on image processing and on systems and
application programming. Harry joined the Harvard faculty in the fall of
1974,
and became Gordon McKay Professor of Computer Science in 1981. In 2003 he
was honored with the title of Harvard College Professor. He is a Fellow of
the
Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard. From 1995-2003 Harry
served as Dean of Harvard College. He is a long time member of the College’s
Admissions Committee.
Harry is the author of five books and numerous articles on various aspects

Since November 2002, Tim has been General Counsel for BT
Global Services. Prior to that he was General Counsel of BT Ignite. He became
General Counsel and Commercial Director in May 2004 to reflect his expanded
responsibilities for the worldwide commercial contracts teams in BT. He is a
member of the BT Global Services Executive Team, with director-level
responsibility. He leads and manages Commercial Legal and Regulatory teams
across 20 business locations in continental Europe, the US and Asia Pacific and
is responsible for all law and regulation covering a wide variety of issues
involving Commercial Contracts with customers and suppliers, Telecoms Law and
Regulation litigation, etc.
He has personally led the negotiations of some of BT’s largest corporate
transactions and commercial deals, in particular the outsourcing and ICT deals
for which BT Global Services has become renowned.
Tim originally joined BT in 1991 from private practice as a European lawyer in
the Regulatory, Competition and Public Law Division. From 1994 to 1999, he was
Head of European Law, responsible for all aspects of EU law and
Telecommunications Regulation affecting the BT Group and was the Head of the
Legal and Regulatory team dealing with deregulation and worldwide alliances. He
was an integral member of the BT team involved in BT’s first wave of
international expansion, with much of the 1990s being spent on one deal or
another; BT/MCI(1), FT/DT/Sprint, Global One, BT/MCI(2), BT/Viag Interkom, BT/Telfort,
BT Banco Santander, BT/Telenordia, BT/AT&T and BT/AT&T Concert Unwind. From 1999
to 2000 he was promoted to Chief Counsel for Competition Law and Public Policy,
managing teams lobbying on EU and UK legislation as well as leading
transactional work on BT's major transactions and oppositions to deals and
developments. He led the combined BT/AT&T team making representations on the
Worldcom MCI/Sprint transaction, one of the few decisions blocked by the
European Commission; which changed the shape of the communications industry. He
won the prestigious De Somogyi Award for European Law.
From early work on deregulation and liberalisation of markets during the 1980’s
Tim has been involved in the International Chamber of Commerce working groups
and is now BT’s ICC Council member. Tim has been a member of the Ad-hoc Council
for Europe for about 5 years and represents BT on the Competition Working Group
at the European Round Table.
He Chairs the Development Board of the British Institute of International and
Comparative Law (BIICL) and is a member of the CBI Competition Panel.
In 2006 he was elected to the Board of the International Association of
Commercial Contract Managers (IACCM).
In 2007 Tim was elected to the Chairmanship of IACCM.
He is regularly invited to speak at International conferences on management of
commercial/legal departments, and issues relating to multinational trading. He
has written several academic papers which include: - “Toward a Matrix
Infrastructure”: Fordham Corporate Law Institute, 1995; “Computer Law”, Chris
Reed Ed. 2000; “EEC Law and Information Technology”, “Information Technology and
