David Johnson
Global Information Officer, Jones Lang LaSalle

As Jones Lang LaSalle’s Chief Information Officer, David is responsible for leading the Information Technology Group and delivering technology products and services in support of The Firm’s strategic vision and annual operating plans. David is highly experienced in real estate operations and finance with over 20 years of overall Industry and technology experience. He has served for 5 Years as Chief Information Officer of the Americas and has over 17 years of real estate management experience. He also has 8 years of operations and systems consulting to the real estate industry with a client list that includes many of the industry’s top players including Lend Lease, Prudential, Microsoft, Bank of America, KeyCorp, Citigroup, and top REITS.

He is the former Practice Leader and Senior Manager for both the Price Waterhouse Real Estate Operations and Systems Consulting Practice in the

Georg Kell
Executive Director, the United Nations Global Compact

Georg Kell is the executive director of the United Nations Global Compact, the world's largest voluntary corporate citizenship. Following extensive experiences in Africa and Asia as a financial analyst, Kell began his career at the UN in Geneva, where he worked from 1987 to 1990 with the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). In 1990, he joined the New York office of UNCTAD, which he headed from 1993 to 1997. In 1997, Kell became a senior officer in the Executive Office of UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, responsible for fostering cooperation with the private sector. He has served as head of the UN Global Compact since 2000. A native of Germany, Kell holds advanced degrees in economics and engineering from the Technical University of Berlin.

Stanley S. Litow
VP, Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs and President, IBM International Foundation

Stanley Litow is IBM's Vice President for Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs and President of its Foundation. He heads global corporate citizenship efforts and corporate social responsibility at IBM across over 170 countries. Under his leadership, IBM has developed innovative voice recognition technology to help non literate children and adults learn to read, automatic language translation and bi lingual email, open source technology to help people with disabilities access the web, a humanitarian grid to power research on Cancer and AIDS and new digital imaging technology to improve water quality. He conceived Reinventing Education, a program serving over 100,000 teachers and 10 million children globally and helped devise IBM's Global Citizen's Portfolio consisting of matching accounts for learning and a corporate version of the Peace Corps called the Corporate Services Corps to train 600 future IBM leaders. IBM's efforts in education have raised student achievement and won the company two Ron Brown Award's presented by the President. IBM contributes over $160 million annually and has over 110,000 employee volunteers providing nearly 7 million hours of service globally.

Before joining IBM, he served as the Deputy Chancellor of Schools for New York City, the nation's largest school system, and prior to that he founded and ran Interface, the non profit "think tank" and served as an aide to both the Mayor and Governor of New York.

Stanley's articles and essays have appeared in numerous books and publications including the Yale Law Review, Annual Survey of American Law, Brookings Papers, the American Academy of Sciences, the Journal for the Center for National Policy, Education Week, the Urban School's Journal as well as the New York Times and Newsday.

Stanley is a recipient of the Council on Foundation's prestigious Scrivner Award for creative philanthropy and awards from the Anne Frank Center, Martin Luther King Commission, Manhattanville College, Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies, Coro Foundation, Helen Keller Services to the Blind, and the Women's City Club. He has taught at New School University, the City University of New York and Long Island University.

He chairs the Global Leadership Network and serves on the board of Harvard Business School's Social Enterprise Initiative, Independent Sector, Citizen's Budget Commission, and the After School Corporation.

Sean Worthington
Vice President, IT Business Services, CISCO Systems, INC.

Sean Worthington is Vice President of IT Business Services at Cisco Systems,
Inc. A member of the Cisco IT Senior Leadership Team, Sean reports directly to
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Rebecca Jacoby.

The global IT Business Services team provides many of Cisco’s information technology foundations, as well as transformational initiatives that include Green IT, Environment Services and Demand Clearing – Cisco’s change management program to successfully manage the supply and demand for shared IT resources.

Sean is a seasoned Silicon Valley executive with extensive IT leadership

Alice Tepper Marlin
President of Social Accountability International (SAI)
2007-08 Citigroup Distinguished Fellow in Ethics and Leadership at NYU’s Stern School of Business

SAI is a global standards-setting organization dedicated to improving workplaces and communities. SA8000 is based on United Nations and ILO Conventions and Declarations, and on the ISO management systems. SAI contracts with Social Accountability Accreditation Agency (SAAS) to license qualified organizations to verify compliance with the SA8000 Standard. Alice is also Adjunct Professor of Markets and Ethics at NYU’s Stern School of Business.

She founded the Council on Economic Priorities (CEP) in 1969 and served as President & CEO for 33 years. CEP pioneered the social investment field and regularly published the best selling consumer guide, “Shopping for a Better World”. Ms. Tepper Marlin has been a frequent public speaker on corporate accountability for three decades. Her numerous other publications include: Rating America’s Corporate Conscience (Addison-Wesley, 1987)

Earlier, Alice served as a Securities Analyst and Labor Economist at Burnham & Co., and as the editor of an international tax journal at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation in the Netherlands. She designed and managed the first social investment portfolio management service, in 1968.

Alice is the founding Member, The Global Academy for Social Entrepreneurship, Ashoka, 2005; and is an advisory Board Member, Ethos Institute, 2005 to present. Her many honors over the years, include the National Security Expert Award, Center for Defense Information, 1987.

Gregory R. Simpson
Chief Technology Officer, GE

Gregory R. Simpson, as GE's Chief Technology Officer, leads GE's infrastructure shared services organization known as “GIS” (Global Infrastructure Services). GIS leverages GE’s scale to deliver solutions to the entire portfolio of GE businesses.

Greg has had an extensive IT career that spans more than 20 years with GE. Bruce Carver
CIO, Cummins, Inc.

Bruce Carver is Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Cummins Inc. Cummins, a global power leader, is a corporation of complementary business units that design, manufacture, distribute and service engines and related technologies.

Bruce joined Cummins in April 2008 from automotive parts maker Dana Holding Corporation, where he was Vice President and CIO. Tom Pyke
CIO, US Department of Energy

Tom Pyke manages the IT resources of the US Department of Energy, with an annual IT budget of $2.1 billion. Before joining the Department of Energy, Tom was the CIO of the Department of Commerce (2001 to 2005) with an IT career spanning over 30 years. He began his career at the National Bureau of Standards (now the National Institute of Standards and Technology).

Tom created and led the High Performance Computing and Communications (HPCC) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and became NOAA’s first CIO. He was also Director of the GLOBE Program which now involves over 20,000 schools in 110 countries.

Tom is the author of more than 40 technical papers and reports, and has lectures widely at conferences and symposiums. He has received numerous awards, including the Department of Commerce Gold Medal Award and two Presidential Meritorious Rank Awards.

Tom is listed in Who's Who in America and is a senior member of the IEEE, a member of the ACM, AAAS, Sigma Xi, Eta Kappa Nu, and Omicron Delta Kappa, and is a Fellow of the Washington Academy of Sciences, from which he received the Engineering Science Award.

Gail Homberg
Former CIO, Bally Total Fitness

Gail Holmberg is the former CIO at Bally Total Fitness where she drove value through the implementation of significant new business functionality including automated CRM capabilities, online sales and real time credit card processing, a new pricing engine and online nutrition advice for members. In addition she led major business change rollouts to approximately 400 clubs across the US and Canada. Larry Bonfante
Chief Information Officer, the United States Tennis Association

With over 25 years of IT experience, Larry is a seasoned professional who has held leadership positions in the Financial, Pharmaceutical, Not for Profit, as well as the Sports and Entertainment industries. As Chief Information Officer at the United States Tennis Association, Larry’s team is responsible for IT services supporting the US Open, which is the most highly attended annual sporting event in the world, as well as online services for over 750,000 members of the USTA.

Prior to joining the USTA, Larry spent ten years at Pfizer Inc. where he served in various leadership capacities including Director of Global Network Services and Director of Global IT Planning. He has extensive experience in running global services organizations and has implemented and managed a number of large complex outsourcing partnerships over the course of his career. Larry serves as President of the Westchester-Fairfield, NY chapter of SIM. He also serves on the advisory board of LogicWorks as well as on the boards of the Technology Managers Forum’s Futures Advisory Board and the Center for Business Information and Technologies at the University of Bridgeport. He is a founding member of the CIO Executive Council, and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for CIO Magazine. Larry is a mentor and guest lecturer for Columbia University’s Executive Masters program in Technology Management. He is an experienced public speaker who has presented at many industry conferences and has written articles that have been published in trade journals such as CIO, Computerworld, Information Week, and CIO Insight magazines.

 Chad Kirkpatrick
State CIO & Director of GITA, State of Arizona

Chad Kirkpatrick is the Chief Information Officer for the State of Arizona and Director of the Government Information Technology Agency. He started this position in April, 2009. Director Kirkpatrick comes to GITA from Wells Fargo where he had served since 2003, most recently in the role of Vice President and Business Systems Manager of Compliance Services.

While with Wells Fargo, Director Kirkpatrick was responsible for fully automating the business process for regulatory compliance testing and managing the Information Security process for the Phoenix location.

 John Conley

He began his career at GE in 1995 with the Corporate Initiatives Group in Fairfield, Connecticut, where he led GE’s Sourcing, E-Commerce and ERP Initiatives. From 1997 to 2006, Laurent held three Global CIO and General Manager positions: GE Oil & Gas in Florence, Italy; NBC in New York City; and GE Energy Services in Atlanta, Georgia. In these roles, he consistently built world-class teams, led transformational business simplification strategies, directed the deployment of award-winning global ERPs, and managed high ROI enterprise business application portfolios.
 
Prior to his service with GE, Laurent spent six years in Europe with the Dow Chemical Company in roles ranging from Advanced Composite Materials Engineering, Automotive Application Marketing and Market Management for Dow Europe and the leading European Automotive OEMs.

 Ben Trowbridge

Ben Trowbridge is the Founder and CEO of Alsbridge. Alsbridge draws upon Ben's many years of experience in the offshore, outsourcing, and shared services sectors. Ben effectively guides Alsbridge as it engages client firms and develops new solutions to complex problems. Recently, Ben and sourcing industry pioneer Morton Meyerson helped Alsbridge raise a sizeable amount of venture capital funding from 2M Ventures.

Ben made a name for himself in the outsourcing industry at Ernst & Young. Working in Ernst & Young’s Outsourcing Services Business, Ben was a Managing Partner and the COO for Ernst & Young’s Global Outsourcing Business, where he devised collaborative efforts to generate business and secure contracts. Ben revolutionized the outsourcing efforts of Ernst & Young, nurturing the operations from start-up to the point of prime profitability.

He was responsible for a contract value of USD $4+ billion at Ernst & Young, and his efforts led directly to the global consulting operations’ purchase by French firm Cap Gemini in 2000. A Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, Ben advanced a series of long-term professional education programs for Marines. Captain Trowbridge led the Corp’s first Special Operations Capable Raid Company and was a four-time Company Commander.

 Paul Czarnik

 Wes Wright
Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Seattle's children hospital

In March 2008, Seattle Children’s Hospital welcomed Wes Wright as vice president and chief technology officer. Wright brings a wealth of information technology experience within the health care industry. Wright joined Children’s from Scripps Health in San Diego, where he was deputy chief information officer. He was responsible for a range of information services including voice and data networks, business and clinical application and interconnectivity with biomedical devices. Prior to working at Scripps Health, he served in different information technology leadership roles within the U.S. Air Force health system. He is affiliated with the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS).  Rob Reeg
President, Global Technology and Operations, MasterCard World Wide

Rob Reeg is president, Global Technology and Operations. Based at the Global Technology and Operations headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, he also serves as a member of the company’s Executive Committee and Management Council. Employees in Global Operations are located across the globe with major centers located in St. Louis, Purchase, Miami, Singapore, Brussels, Sydney, and Chennai.
Previously, Rob was chief technology officer for MasterCard Worldwide. Prior to his role as chief technology officer, he was responsible for systems development activities.

Rob was responsible for leading the $160mm core processing systems reengineering effort at MasterCard. This multi-year effort was delivered on budget and on schedule and provides MasterCard with the leading payments processing platform in the industry. The globally deployed software and computer network processes over 25 billion payment card transactions annually and is responsible for the transfer of more than $1 trillion dollars between financial institutions each year.

Prior to joining MasterCard, Rob held IT and business leadership positions with Sprint Corp., Cleveland Pneumatic, Totco Inc., and Conoco Inc.
Rob serves on the University of Missouri-St. Louis Leadership Council, Washington University’s Professional Degree Programs Academic Advisory Board, and the United Way of Greater St. Louis’ Technology Committee. In addition, he is the chairman of the St. Louis Junior Achievement’s Board of Directors.

 Joe Held
Senior Vice President, and Chief Information Officer, Standard & Poor's

Joe Held, senior vice president and chief information officer for Standard & Poor’s a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies, brings more than 20 years of experience in information technology - focusing on business reengineering; business acquisitions/new ventures; application development and information architecture; and technology strategy and implementation. He currently has responsibility for global business systems S&P-wide.

Before joining S&P, Joe was the executive responsible for Investment Technology Services at Hartford Life Insurance, where he established an industry-leading technology service for the Annuity and Mutual Funds lines of businesses. Joe worked at CIGNA HealthCare from 1995 to 1997 as the assistant vice president of Application and Information Architecture and worked in a variety of IT roles for several Aetna Life and Casualty businesses from 1983 to 1995.

 Adriana Karaboutis
Global Manufacturing and Labor Information Systems and Services, GM

Adriana Karaboutis is General Motors' Global Manufacturing and Labor Process Information Officer (PIO). In this capacity, Adriana is responsible for all vehicle assembly, power train, and stamping plant systems, as well as manufacturing engineering systems. Prior to this role, she was the Global Purchasing and Supply Chain Process Information Officer responsible for all global procurement, order fulfillment, supply operations and logistics systems. Shejoined GM in August 2004.

Prior to working for General Motors, Adriana spent 15 years at Ford Motor Company where she began as a programmer/analyst and moved into various global IT leadership positions with increasing responsibility in manufacturing, supply chain, finance and purchasing residing in both Europe and North America. She also moved cross-functionally into Ford's material planning and logistics organization where she spent six years in various global production planning and scheduling positions as well as leading the Order-to-Delivery reengineering initiative.

Before joining Ford, Adriana accumulated a breadth of automotive and defense industry experience including the development of microprocessor-based welding controls and gauging inspection devices at Medar, Inc.; test engineering at Volkswagen of America; and thermoforming process engineering at GM's Fisher Body Division. Adriana also held positions in scheduling as part of the shipping industry in Athens, Greece.

Adriana received an Academic Excellence Award jointly from Wayne State University and Ford Motor Company. She is fluent in the Greek language.

Adriana served as a member of the advisory board for the Michigan Council of Women in Technology (MCWT) and effective January 2008, was elected president of the organization.

 Gail Stephens
Vice President, R&D, Business Intelligence Clients, SAS

Gail Stephens is Vice President of Business Intelligence Client Applications for SAS. This includes client applications such as Web Report Studio, Information Map Studio, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office, SAS AppDev Studio, SAS Data Integration Studio, SAS Information Delivery Portal, and OLAP Clients.

Gail has a background developing graphical user interface (GUI) based products at SAS and has specifically moved into the business intelligence space. She has also managed other GUI products, including the first one developed at SAS. Stephens was also the manager and original developer of both SAS/ASSIST and SAS/EIS.

Gail also serves on the Strategic Advisory board for the computer science department at North Carolina State University.

 Ian Ayres
William K. Townsend Professor & Anne Urowsky Professorial Fellow in Law, Yale

Ian Ayres is a lawyer and an economist. He is the William K. Townsend Professor at Yale Law School and a Professor at Yale's School of Management.
 
Professor Ayres is a columnist for Forbes magazine and writes for the New York Times' Freakonomics Blog. He has been a commentator on public radio’s Marketplace. His research has been featured on PrimeTime Live, Oprah and Good Morning America and in Time and Vogue magazines.

In 2006, he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Ian has been ranked as one of the most prolific and most-cited law professors of his generation. He has previously taught at Illinois, Northwestern, Stanford and Virginia law schools and has been a research fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He currently is the editor of the Journal of Law, Economics and Organization.

Professor Ayres has published 9 books and over 100 articles on a wide range of topics including (in 2007) Super Crunchers: Why Thinking-By-Numbers is the New Way to be Smart.

 Glen Salow
Executive Vice President – Service Delivery and Technology, Ameriprise

Glen Salow joined Ameriprise Financial in May 2005. Salow is responsible for creating an integrated state-of-the-art technology and service delivery organization.

Before joining the company, Salow was executive vice president and chief information officer of American Express, a position he assumed in March 2000, after holding the role of senior vice president in the organization since 1997. As CIO, he advanced the company to one of the most strategic users of adaptive technology in the financial services market sector and led the signing of a $4 billion technology-on-demand agreement with IBM to improve the flexibility and quality of the company's infrastructure.

Salow serves on the Technology Advisory Boards of British Petroleum and New York Presbyterian Hospital.

 Nicholas R. Colisto

Nicholas R. Colisto is senior information technology executive with 23 years of experience providing innovative, business driven IT solutions. He serves as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc., a large residential homebuilder.

He is very active in the information technology and education communities serving as a member of the Society for Information Management (SIM) in New Jersey. Nicholas taught a Masters program in Information Technology at Manhattanville College in New York for several years and also served on its Advisory Board.  Suzanne Gordon

Governor Chris Gregoire named Tony Tortorice, a California Information
Technology executive with more than 25 years of IT experience in both the
private and public sectors, to head Washington’s Department of Information
Services. Tony’s term began on July 1st of this year.

A California resident for the past 30 years, Tony Tortorice, 57, was the
chief information officer for the Los Angeles Unified School district, the
nation’s second largest public school system. There, he led the recovery of
a troubled HR/Payroll implementation. Tortorice was also the senior IT
executive for the Los Angeles Community College District, the largest system
of community colleges in the nation. Before working with the community
college system, he was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Donald F. Martin

Don is vice president and chief information officer of Armstrong World Industries where he is currently managing several web initiatives.

Don came to Armstrong in March 2002 from OfficeMax where he was vice president of Information Systems. Prior to this, he was program director at LTV Corporation where he designed and implemented one of the largest domestic SAP projects at the time. Early in his career, he was project manager at NASA’s Glenn Research Center. Gerry McCartney

Gopal Khanna
Chief Information Officer, State of Minnesota

Gopal Khanna was appointed Minnesota's first State CIO by Governor Tim Pawlenty on August 15, 2005, and unanimously confirmed by the State Senate on March 20, 2006. Gopal was appointed to a second term by Governor Pawlenty effective January 2, 2007, and, again, unanimously confirmed by the State Senate January 17, 2007. Minnesota's Executive Branch spends an estimated $600 million per year on information technology through 66 different agencies with 2400 staff and 1000 networks, and operates over 500 websites.
Gopal is currently president of the National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO).

Prior to assuming his position with the State of Minnesota, Gopal served in the administration of President George W. Bush in Washington, D.C., from June 2002 through August 2005, and is credited with leading major reforms in the federal government. As the CIO and CFO of the U.S. Peace Corps, he was responsible for the successful implementation of a standardized computing platform for the Peace Corps' 72 posts worldwide; design and implementation of an enterprise architecture program that serves as the framework for the agency's systems modernization strategy; and transformation of financial management systems that resulted in the issuance of the first set of audited financial statements in the agency's 43-year history.

Prior to his leadership role in government, Gopal was in the private sector where he held several corporate senior leadership positions. He has a broad-based management background which includes experience in information technology, finance, operations, strategic planning, business development, and consulting.

From 1996 to 2002, Gopal was president and CEO of International Technology Consultants, Inc. From 1990 to 1996, he was with the American Hardware Insurance Group, a Minneapolis-based property and casualty insurance group, where he held several positions including vice president of operations, vice president of systems, and vice president of information technology and administration. From 1981 to 1990, he was with the National Council on Compensation Insurance in Boca Raton, Florida, where he held several positions including director of operations and director of strategic planning. Prior to that, Gopal lived in New York where he held positions in marketing, sales management, merchandising, and corporate training and development with the MONY Financial Services Group.

Gopal has a long history of civic and charitable involvement. He has served on several professional and community boards and is currently a member of the board of trustees of the Hindu Society of Minnesota.

Prior to Eaton, Albert was the CTO and VP, Emerson Network Power, Emerson

CTO, he oversaw the global R&D and product development of Emerson Network
Power, which had engineers in 6 continents. He is a Founding Member of the

Albert has held the position of SVP – Corporate Research at Hilti,
Liechtenstein. He held several positions with increasing responsibilities in
GE having started as Project Manager in GE’s Corporate R&D Center, Power
Controls Program, where he was Manager and had responsibility for GE’s
Research in electronics. Prior to this he was at GE Medical Systems, MRI where
he eventually became the Global Manager. He was one of GE’s first Certified
Master Blackbelt and was part of the initial 6 Sigma effort in GE Medical
Systems.

Albert started his career with Daimler-Benz as a Staff Scientist and member of
the Corporate Technology Exchange Program.

Albert has published a book on wireless transmission of electric power and
signals for robots, 10 papers, received an Outstanding Prize Paper Award
jointly from the IEEE/Industrial Application Society and the IEE Japan (1993),
and holds 12 US patents. He has received numerous company awards including

Rohit Ghai

Rohit Ghai is a recognized expert in the design, development, and release of data center and security management software solutions. Carey Nachenberg

Dr. Janis L. Gogan

Dr. Janis L. Gogan holds EdM, MBA, and DBA degrees from Harvard University. A member of the Information & Process Management faculty at Bentley College, she teaches IT management and conducts field-based research on complex IT
projects, management of emerging technologies, inter-organizational systems,
eCommerce strategies, and inter-organizational information sharing in

Steve Phillips

Steve Phillips is senior vice president and chief information officer for
Avnet, Inc., reporting to Avnet Chief Operating Officer Rick Hamada. He is
also a member of the Avnet Executive Board and a corporate officer.

Steve came to Avnet with the 2005 acquisition of Memec, where he had served as
senior vice president and chief information officer since 2004. Prior to
joining Memec, Steve was senior vice president and chief information officer
for Gateway Inc. He joined Gateway in 1999 and served as vice president of
information technology (IT) in London and San Diego before his appointment in
2003 as chief information officer. Between 1996 and 1999, he worked for
Diageo, the international food and drinks group, where he was information
technology director for its European foods division. He previously spent eight
years in a variety of leadership roles at Thorn EMI, a UK defense-electronics
company.

In May 2007 he was elected to the board of directors of the Arizona Technology
Council. During the same month he was named to eWeek's Top 100 CIOs. Ranked
No. 56, Mr. Phillips was referenced as being "a leader in IT best practices
and a big proponent of business intelligence solutions."

Howard A. Schmidt has had a distinguished career in defense, law enforcement
and corporate security spanning almost 40 years. He most recently served in
the position of Chief Security Strategist for the U.S. CERT Partners Program
for the National Cyber Security Division, Department of Homeland Security.

He retired from the White House after 31 years in public service. He was
appointed by President Bush as the Vice Chair of Critical Infrastructure
Protection and as the Special Adviser for Cyberspace Security in 2001. Prior
to the White House, he was chief security officer for Microsoft Corp.

Howard was with the FBI at the National Drug Intelligence Center, where he
headed the Computer Exploitation Team.

Howard served with the U.S. Air Force in various roles from 1967 to 1983, and
as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves he is a Special Agent in the Criminal
Investigation Division .

He also serves as the international president of the ISSA and was the first
president of IT-ISAC. He served as an augmented member to the President’s
Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology in the formation of an
Institute for Information Infrastructure Protection.

Howard has been appointed to the ISPAB to advise the National Institute of
Standards and Technology, the Secretary of Commerce and the Director of the
Office of Management and Budget on information security and privacy issues
pertaining to Federal Government information systems.

Steve Moffett
VP of Solutions Delivery, DSW Inc.

Steve Moffett recently joined DSW as Vice President of Solutions Delivery for the Brand Technology Services organization. DSW is a U.S. specialty branded footwear retailer.

Steve is a former executive of Intuit Inc., a leading provider of business and financial management solutions. Flagship products and services include QuickBooks, Quicken, and TurboTax software.

Prior to joining Intuit, Steve worked with the parent company of NASDAQ, Citicorp, and numerous other groups in software process improvement based upon the teachings of Dr. Deming and Carnegie Mellon’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI). Steve was the first person authorized by SEI to train and evaluate teams of SEI qualified assessors to evaluate and help improve software development organizations and teams.

Steve also served in the Air Force as a combat A-10 pilot, in Desert Shield/Storm, and led the introduction of software process improvement across the United States Air Force.

Shawn Banerji

Brian has more than 20 years of experience in the field of information technology and has held a number of key leadership positions. Prior to his current position, Brian served as the CIO for Penn Engineering and Manufacturing during which the company’s business grew at a rate of more than 30% during his tenure.

From 1984 through 1994, Brian worked for the Unisys Corporation, culminating his tenure as the Bid Integrity Manager for the Tri-State area. Mark Polansky

Kraft Foods for twelve years holding several senior IT management positions.

Kevin Walker

Kevin Walker is senior vice president and chief information officer for American Electric Power. Previously, he was president and chief operating officer for AEP Ohio, serving approximately 1.44 million customers in Ohio and the northern West Virginia panhandle, with authority for distribution operations and a wide range of customer and regulatory relationships.

Before joining AEP in 2004, Kevin was vice president, Maintenance and Construction Services, for Consolidated Edison of New York, including the five boroughs of New York City and Westchester. Kevin was instrumental in directing recovery of energy service following the collapse of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.

Kevin spent approximately 13 years with Consolidated Edison in various leadership positions. He served as Waterside Plant Manager, Steam Operations Department Manager, and as New York City public affairs liaison was the primary interface with the New York City mayor’s office during the administration of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Kevin also served for more than six years as a Captain in the United States Army.

Kevin serves as board chair for the Ohio Business Development Coalition, and the Columbus/Franklin County Community Action Agency Task Force. He serves on the board of various organizations and is board advisor for Comprehensive Development Inc., a nonprofit organization that supports mentoring and development programs for the Manhattan Comprehensive Night and Day High School.

In 2005, Kevin Walker was recognized by Black Enterprise Magazine as one of corporate America’s 75 top black business leaders. He was also featured in the 2006 edition of Who’s Who in Black Columbus (Ohio). In 1999, he received the Harlem YMCA’s Black Achiever in Industry Award.

Ken G. Fulmer
Chief Technology Officer, Sunoco, Inc.

Ken Fulmer is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Sunoco and part of the IT leadership team at Sunoco. He has been with Sunoco for 25 years, in various positions within the Information Technology field. His current responsibilities as CTO include managing the Project Management Office (PMO), the IT planning and application architecture group. He is also directing the enabling layer of applications including SOA and EAI, Web Services, Portals, Document Management, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing.

Ken started at Sun Oil (as it was then known) in the Commercial products group. He then managed the Sun Information Services (now Sungard) consulting group of over 200 consultants, leading projects in the government and financial services sector. He later managed a series of large internal projects for various business segments in Sunoco, including introducing the Cstore systems, implementing a pipeline financial tracking system, implementing the refinery maintenance and asset management system, HES systems, and replacing the financial and procurement systems. He also managed the IT development
for treasury, tax, and business line performance and sales reporting groups. Prior to his current role, Ken managed Sunoco's backoffice and financial applications, as well as being the IT director for the Mid-America business line. He has also lead several business process re-engineering teams, and was part of the corporate quality program at Sunoco for IT.

Ben Grimes
CTO, Avocent Co.

Ben Grimes is Chief Technology Officer of Avocent. Prior to joining Avocent,
Ben had a 17-year career with IBM, most recently in the appointed position of
Distinguished Engineer, an executive position he held from 2002 to 2007. In
that role, he served as the lead architect for software development for IBM
xSeries and blades. That position overlapped with a two year special
assignment in which he worked directly with large financial institutions to
develop industry-specific customizations for software products.

Ben’s earlier years with IBM included five years as the lead designer and
engineer for embedded systems management for xSeries after serving as a
programmer in embedded firmware. He was awarded 9 patents for his innovations in systems software.

Steve Workman
Vice President, Product Management, LANDesk Software, an Avocent Co.

Steve Workman started his career at Intel working on a then-nascent technology
known as systems management that was later spun-off to become LANDesk
Software. He later joined Soronti Inc., a maker of KVM switches. KVM was later
acquired by Avocent. From there, Steve served at Avocent for many years. In
2006, he was appointed general manager of LANDesk Software after LANDesk was acquired by Avocent Corporation in early 2006. Steve has more than 14 years in IT, having worked at Intel Corporation, EFI Electronics, and Dayna
Communications.

Frederick "Fred" W. Dan Ariely
Luis Alvarez Renta Professor of Management Science, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

Dan Ariely is the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Behavioral Economics at MIT,
where he holds a joint appointment between MIT's Program in Media Arts and
Sciences and the Sloan School of Management. He is also a visiting scholar at
the Boston Federal Reserve Bank and a fellow at the Institute for Advance
Study at Princeton.

At MIT, Dan is the principal investigator of the Media Lab's eRationality
group, a co-director of the Lab's Simplicity consortium, and the founder of
the Center for Advanced Hindsight. He and his students are conducting
experiments that illuminate day-to-day irrationality in decision-making and
creating software solutions to overcome persistent human shortcomings.

As a behavioral economist, Dan studies how people actually act in the
marketplace, as opposed to how they should or would perform if they were
completely rational. His interests span a wide range of daily behaviors such
as buying (or not), saving (or not), procrastination, dishonesty, and decision
making under different emotional states.

Elizabeth Hackenson

She previously had been CIO for Lucent. Before joining Lucent in April of 2006, she held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for MCI. During her five years at MCI, Ms. Hackenson held several senior positions in the company’s IT and supply chain organizations, leading various transformation projects, including the development of a centralized shared service model and a state-of-the-art customer self-service portal infrastructure.

Prior to MCI, she worked for UUNET for three years, where she managed the development of Internet products and implemented web-based tools for the company’s supply chain, resulting in additional revenue and a more cost-effective customer service process. Earlier in her career she worked for Concert Communication, where she was responsible for leading the development and deployment of the company's flagship voice product. She also has held IT management positions at EDS, Computech, TRW and Grumman & Sperry.

In 2005, Computer World named her one of its top 100 premier IT leaders. The Washington Post named her one of the top 200 female executives in 2004 and Information Week ranked the department she lead as one of the top 100 for IT leadership. Mike Afergan

Dr. Mike Afergan was named Chief Technology Officer of Akamai in October 2005. In addition to serving as CTO, Mike is a Senior Vice President with the company. He also developed critical systems for use in the core mutual fund investment area and evaluated new companies as potential candidates for investment by Fidelity Ventures. Ashok Singhal

Claudio joined Bayer in 1990. Since then, Claudio has established the North

John W. Lambeth is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Erickson Retirement Communities. Prior to joining Erickson in January 2008, Mr. Lambeth served as Vice President, Information Technology & Security for Blackboard, Inc. While at Blackboard, he led the IT organization through an initial public offering and established standards necessary to meet rigorous Payment Card Industry and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. Dale came to this position after over thirty years of military service, culminating with his retirement from the United States Air Force as a Major General in November 2005. His career highlights include service as a director and Chief Information Officer in three Air Force major air commands and three unified combatant commands, a deployed Joint Task Force Director of Communications in Southwest Asia, and a commander of two major Air Force communications units. Dale has been honored with the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, two Legions of Merit, two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, and six Meritorious Service Medals. .

.Matthew Jett Hall is the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Information Technology Services, Associate Chief Information Architect for Enterprise Infrastructure, Assoc. He coordinates enterprise IT architecture processes with members of the research, clinical enterprise, and teaching communities. Matt assumed his appointment in April 2004.
Matt started his career with Bank of America in 1992 in Tampa, Florida. He spent time on the Technology Planning & Control team before moving to the Global Corporate Investment Bank. There, he completed corporate credit training and managed a Business Assessment & Software Development team that supported Corporate Finance, Capital Markets (NCMI), Loan Syndications, Corporate Credit Services, High Yield Capital Markets, FX Trading, and the Financial Buyers Groups in Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas, and New York.

In 1997, he joined the Petroleum Trading Group at Koch Industries assigned primarily to acquisition due diligence and development of the new petroleum and derivatives trading floor in London. He led merger and acquisition diligence for various refineries and petroleum distillation operations in Rotterdam, London, Luxembourg, Breda, and Dusseldorf. He also supported petroleum-trading operations in Wichita, London, and Singapore.

After returning from London in 1998, he resumed his employment with Bank of America. In 2001, he assumed responsibility for business planning and project management of Bank of America's Global Corporate Investment Bank, Global Treasury Services, and the Asset Management Group's network and data center infrastructure. He managed $163 million in expense allocations and over $69 million in annual capital expenditures on behalf of the shareholders.

Charles A. Bremer

Charles A. Bremer is Vice President, Information Technology, Ameren Corporation. He assumed the position of Vice President, Information Technology in 1993 and added the responsibility for the newly formed Ameren Services Center in 2005. Prior to that time he directed Technical Services. He assumed the Technical Services title in 1988 after serving as Vice President, Supply Service.

William Bryan

Bill is a third-generation Missourian – born, bred and educated in the Show-Me State. Bill was appointed state CIO in 2009.


Prior to being appointed as state CIO, Bill served as Assistant Attorney General. During his 18 year career at the Attorney General’s Office, Bill obtained broad experience, working in all but 2 divisions. He was recognized nationally and internationally for his work encouraging the implementation of next generation technology in animal agriculture. Bill was also lead counsel in the Taum Sauk Disaster litigation, a disaster caused in part, by faulty programming logic unearthed by the AGO team.


Throughout his tenure, Bill championed the use of leading technologies and was the first lawyer in state government with a desktop computer. He also was one of the pioneers in using technology to persuasively present non-computer evidence at trial and simply as an out-of-court advocacy tool.

Chris Buse

Christopher Buse is the Chief Information Security Officer for the State of Minnesota. Before accepting this position, Christopher served as the Manager of Information Technology Audits for the Minnesota Office of the Legislative Auditor. During his 19 years as an auditor, Christopher planned and oversaw information technology audit work done on large government computer systems. Christopher also provided state of the art technology tools and training for audit professionals. Lieutenant General Harry D. Raduege Jr. (USAF, Ret)

Chairman, The Deloitte Center for Network Innovation

Harry D. Raduege, Jr. retired after serving 35 years in the U.S. military. He worked in the areas of technology, including telecommunications, space, information and network operations. He served more than 17 years in joint duty assignments. In his last position, he led Department of Defense netcentric operations as the director of the Defense Information Systems Agency. In that role, Harry directed planning, engineering and implementation of interoperable communications and intelligence systems serving the needs of the president, the secretary of defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, combatant commanders and the military services. Notably, he led efforts to restore communications to the Pentagon following the September 11 terrorist attacks; upgraded presidential communications; and led the successful expansion of the department's Global Information Grid through a $1 billion transformational communications program.
Harry was also appointed by the secretary of defense as the commander of the Joint Task Force for Global Network Operations, and as deputy commander for Global Network Operations and Defense for the U.S. Strategic Command. In these roles, he was the first commander assigned responsibility for directing the operation and defense of the Global Information Grid to ensure timely and secure netcentric capabilities across the entire department. Harry also served as the manager of the National Communications System and led the nation's efforts to prioritize the restoration of telecommunications throughout New York City and the Pentagon following the 9/11 attacks.


Prior to his last assignments, Harry directed command and control systems for North American Aerospace Defense Command, U.S. Space Command and Air Force Space Command. He also served as the chief information officer for all three commands, was the architect for computer network defense and attack capabilities established within the Department of Defense, and was the national spokesman for the department during the successful "Year 2000" computer rollover efforts. Harry directed command and control communications at the U.S. Central Command for three years, including the relocation efforts required after the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia. Earlier, he served as the first commander of the Air Force C4 Agency and was the Joint Chiefs of Staff architect for all satellite communications supporting more than 500,000 deployed military members during the Gulf War in 1991.


Harry serves as a senior counselor to The Cohen Group; on the World Board of Governors of the United Services Organizations (USO); on the Executive Council of the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium (NCOIC); as co-chair of the Center for Strategic and International Studies’ (CSIS) Commission on Cyber Security for the 44th Presidency; as a member of the Center for U.S. Global Engagement’s National Security Advisory Council; and on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) International. He also serves as an advisor to the Defense Science Board, and is a member of the Board of Trustees and chairs the Technology Committee for Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.

William F. Pelgrin is the Director of the NYS Office of Cyber Security & Critical Infrastructure Coordination (CSCIC) and the Chief Cyber Security Officer for New York State. William has been actively involved in cyber security issues since 1996 and was asked to lead CSCIC upon its creation in 2002 in recognition of his leadership and expertise in cyber security.

William is responsible for directing New York State's efforts regarding cyber readiness and resilience, and geographic information technologies, especially in emergencies, where CSCIC is the single point-of-contact. The CSCIC has established a 7x24 Cyber Security Center to analyze and respond to intrusions and other anomalous cyber activity; deployed intrusion/prevention detection architecture for critical segments of the State’s network and computing infrastructure; developed statewide cyber security policies; implemented statewide cyber security training for state and local government; and enhanced the capabilities of the State’s critical infrastructure application to assist in responding to any emergency.

William also chairs the Public/Private Sector Cyber Security Workgroup, which comprises a talented cadre of senior representatives from State and local government, academia, the private sector from not only New York, but New Jersey, as well as the federal government. He has brought together a diverse community that is working collaboratively to enhance cyber security in the public and private sectors for the collective benefit of all.

William established the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) in January 2003 in recognition of the need for collaboration across states to better prevent, detect, respond to and recover from cyber incidents. The MS-ISAC has representation from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, local governments and U.S. Territories and serves as a collaborative mechanism to share information regarding cyber security issues. Because of the success of the MS-ISAC, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has recognized the MS-ISAC for its proactive role in coordinating state and local government cyber readiness and response.

Mark Weatherford
Director and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), State of California Office of Information Security

Mark Weatherford was appointed to his position as Director and Chief Information Security Officer of the California Office of Information Security in June 2008 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Mark was also recently selected to guide the efforts of a Governor’s Reorganization Plan (GRP) initiative which consolidated four IT organizations into the California Office of the State Chief Information Officer.
Mark previously served as the Chief Information Security Officer for the State of Colorado where he was appointed by two successive governors. Richard (Dick) C. Schaeffer, Jr.
Information Assurance Director, National Security Agency (NSA)

Dick Schaeffer is the Information Assurance Director at the National Security Agency (NSA). The Information Assurance Directorate (IAD) is responsible for the availability of products, services, technology and standards for protecting and defending our nation’s critical information systems from adversaries in cyber space. IAD is a key contributor to the Information Assurance Strategy to protect the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Global Information Grid (GIG) and other National Security Systems of the U.S. government. It supports ongoing military operations by delivering solutions that enable the secure and dynamic sharing of information between and across security domains at multiple classification and sensitivity levels.

Collaboration and partnerships with the DoD, intelligence community, allies, academia, and industry is key to IAD’s success. Additionally, IAD’s partnership with colleges, universities and Service academies, through its Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) program, continues to produce a growing number of Information Assurance professionals for the government and industry workforce.

Prior to leading the IA Mission at NSA, Dick was Chief of the National Security Operations Center (NSOC). NSOC manages the U.S. Cryptologic System around the clock, serving as the command-and-control center for time-sensitive operations and crisis response. Other major assignments have included IA Deputy Director; Acting Associate Director of Research; NSA Deputy Chief of Staff; and Director, Infrastructure and Information Assurance, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence). He has held positions as Chief, IA Research Office; Chief, Network Security Infrastructure Office; Deputy Chief, Office of Developmental Systems Security Evaluations; Deputy Chief, Tactical Systems Security Office; Deputy Chief, Weapons Systems Office; Chief, Special Projects Division as well as various engineering and management positions. Richard served in the United States Marine Corps, including two tours in Vietnam.

Dick serves on the Board of Directors, Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), Central Maryland Chapter and the Board of Directors, Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA).

D. James Bidzos

James Bidzos, chairman of the board of directors, executive chairman and founder of VeriSign, is an Internet and security industry pioneer whose accomplishments include building RSA Security into the early standard-bearer for authentication and encryption, and launching VeriSign as a company in 1995 to develop the digital certificate infrastructure for Internet commerce. In August 2009, VeriSign announced the appointment of James as executive chairman.

James served as VeriSign's first president and CEO and also served as VeriSign's chairman of the board of directors from April 1995 until December 2001, as vice chairman from December 2001 to July 2007, and as interim CEO from July 2008 to August 2009. André V. Mendes

At SOI, André Mendes is responsible for all strategic and operational aspects of the organization’s information technology infrastructure.  SOI coordinates operations in all fifty states and over 150 countries serving over 2.25 million athletes affected by intellectual disabilities.

Previously, André was responsible for developing and implementing technology strategy in both the Broadcasting Engineering and Information Technology divisions of the Public Broadcasting Service.  He also oversaw the daily operations of PBS’s entire technology infrastructure. Mr. Mendes had also previously served the organization from 1998 to 2001, and rose to the position of Chief Information Technology Officer during that time. 

Before returning to public television, André was Chief Operating Officer at Pluvita Corporation, a venture-backed company in Bethesda, MD that employs cutting-edge genetic science and bioinformatics to accelerate drug discovery and development processes.  With more than 20 years experience through positions he held at General Health, SatoTravel and USASSIST, Mr. André has also consulted as a subject matter expert in information technology and medical laboratory environments with such companies as Amoco, Arco, AT&T, Ford Motor Company, IBM, Pacific Bell and Procter & Gamble.  His expertise encompasses mission critical  IT and broadcasting facilities, large scale web, e-commerce and analytical environments, systems security, as well as complex bioinformatics systems.

Stephen Brobst

Stephen Brobst is the chief technology officer for Teradata Corporation. He is widely regarded as a leading expert in data warehousing and joined the Teradata team in October of 1999. Previously, Stephen successfully launched three start-up companies related to high-end database products and services in the data warehousing and e-business marketplaces: Tanning Technology Corporation (IPO on NASDAQ), NexTek Solutions (acquired by IBM) and Strategic Technologies & Systems (acquired by NCR). Stephen also taught graduate courses at Boston University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in both the MBA program at the Sloan School of Management and in the computer science departments of both universities. He received the instructor of the year award for two of his last five years in the MET Computer Science department at Boston University and continues as a frequent guest lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Stephen performed master's and Ph.D. research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where his dissertation focused on load-balancing and resource allocation for parallel computing architectures. He also holds an MBA with joint course and thesis work at the Harvard Business School and the MIT Sloan School of Management. Stephen completed his undergraduate work in electrical engineering and computer science in just three years at University of California, Berkeley, and was awarded the highest honor given to a graduating senior in the College of Engineering (Bechtel Engineering Award). Stephen is an elected member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Xi, New York Academy of Sciences, University of California, Berkeley Alumni Scholars Association, and the California Scholarship Federation honor societies. He co-authored a book, Building a Data Warehouse for Decision Support, published by Prentice Hall PTR. Stephen is currently working on a second book focused on active data warehousing for the real-time enterprise. Dr. Melodie Mayberry-Stewart serves as New York State Chief Information Officer and Director of the Office for Technology. As the Governor’s top information technology advisor and a member of the Governor’s cabinet, Melodie develops, implements and oversees IT investments for the State of New York, a $130 billion enterprise with over 190,000 employees serving a statewide population of 19 million. The State has approximately 5,600 IT professionals, and spends approximately $2 billion in information technology annually.

Melodie, a veteran of IT, started her career in Information Technology 30 years ago as a Systems Engineer for the IBM Corporation. Subsequently, she worked as an IT executive in two Fortune 20 companies, the largest healthcare hospital in the country, and in the public and private non-profit sectors.
During her 13 years with IBM, she quickly rose through the ranks and served as an Instructor in Database and Data Communications at the IBM Advanced Technical Education Center in Los Angeles and authored several courses published by Science Research Associates.

After leaving a successful career at IBM, Dr. Mayberry-Stewart became a Chief Information Officer in the health care industry as the first CIO at Community Health Corporation, (California), St. Thomas Hospital (Tennessee) and Beth Israel Medical Center (New York). After 14 years in healthcare IT, she turned her interest to the energy industry where she became a Vice President and General Manager of Shared IT Services and Global IT Delivery for the Amoco Corporation, with global headquarters in Chicago, and was acquired by BP Oil in the UK.

Melodie has worked extensively with non-profit companies to help their organizations better serve their constituents. Her work brought her to the attention of the newly elected Mayor of Cleveland, Ohio. In 2002 he appointed her as the City’s first Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and CIO. In May 2007, Dr. Mayberry-Stewart was appointed NYS CIO and Director of the NYS Office for Technology.

Melodie has been nationally recognized in InformationWeek’s 2009 Government CIO 50 list. Hardik Bhatt

Jeanne W. Ross

Jeanne W. Ross is Director and Principal Research Scientist at the MIT Sloan School’s Center for Information Systems Research. As Director, Jeanne directs academic research that targets the challenges of senior level executives at the Center’s seventy global sponsors. Her own research examines the organizational and performance implications of enterprise architecture initiatives, IT governance, and new IT management practices. Her work has appeared in major practitioner and academic journals, including Sloan Management Review, Harvard Business Review, the Wall Street Journal, MISQ Executive, MIS Quarterly, the Journal of Management Information Systems, IBM Systems Journal, and CIO Magazine.

Russ Bostick

Richard Hunter

George Westerman
Research Scientist in the Center for Information Systems Research at the MIT Sloan School of Management

George Westerman is a research scientist in MIT Sloan’s Center for Information Systems Research and faculty chair for the course IT for the Non-IT Executive.  His research and executive presentations focus on senior management challenges such as IT risk, value measurement, and innovation.  His work has been published in Sloan Management Review, MIS Quarterly Executive, and IESE Insight, as well as academic journals.  George’s first book IT Risk: Turning Business Threats Into Competitive Advantage (Harvard Business School Press, co-authored with Richard Hunter), was named one of CIO Insight magazine’s Top Ten Books of 2007.  His new book The Real Business of IT: How CIOs Create and Communicate Value (also with Richard Hunter) will be published by HBS Press in September 2009.  A noted speaker and workshop facilitator, George works regularly with executives to improve the business value of IT.

Scott Gibson
CIO & Senior VP of Distribution, Best Western International

Gibson joined Best Western in 2005 as Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Distribution. He brings more than 22 years of experience in the hotel industry technology sector to his role, along with a reputation for planning and producing solid technology infrastructures. As CIO and SVP of Distribution, Gibson leads the Information Technology, Global Channel Distribution and Worldwide Delivery departments from the company headquarters in Phoenix.

Gibson has held a variety of leadership positions throughout the hospitality industry. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Kerzner International Resorts. His primary responsibilities at Kerzner included driving technology leadership for the company's Paradise Island and U.S. operations, including the development of a new reservations system.

Gibson also served as a Reservations System Development Director for Red Lion Hotels and Inns, where he also developed and implemented a new central reservations system. He then moved to Cendant Corporation, where he held various director-level technology posts before ultimately being named Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the company's hotel division. During his time there, Gibson was responsible for delivering the technology needs for the hotel division and its nearly 6,000 franchisees. He also led the technology integration plan supporting the formation of Cendant Travel Group, which brought together all travel-related business units of the company.

Gibson began his hotel technology career with Ramada, and followed that with a six-year term with Anasazi, where he managed projects to develop and deliver custom reservation systems to four major hotel companies.

Dennis Quan

Dennis Quan is Director of Development in IBM's Autonomic Computing division. He launched the IBM/Google Cloud Computing partnership in October 2007 to empower the next generation of engineers with Cloud Computing resources and skills. Dennis was also instrumental in the creation of the IBM Blue Cloud initiative announced in November 2007, a multi-year effort spanning software, hardware, and services offerings for supporting clients' adoption of Cloud Computing technologies.

Previously, Dennis held various technical leadership positions within IBM, including CTO of the IBM High Performance On Demand Solutions group, development manager for IBM DataPower's XML Technologies team, and research scientist and manager of the High Performance SOA department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. Dennis holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics, also from MIT.

Dr. Daniel D. Frye

Dr. Daniel D. Frye, Vice President - IBM Open Systems Development, is the head of IBM's Linux development team - the IBM Linux Technology Center (LTC) - and is responsible for overseeing IBM's Linux technical strategy and IBM's participation in the open source Linux development community. Dan is also responsible for emerging workloads, such as Web 2.0 and cloud computing, including its Blue Cloud Initiative.

Vittorio Cretella has been the Mars Information Services global CTO since 2002. Vittorio is responsible for the delivery of infrastructure services to more than 45000 users over more than 160 countries . The division provides 24X7 operations in “follow-the-sun” mode, as well as technology development services and innovation projects. Under Vittorio’s initiative, Mars IS has standardized and consolidated infrastructure components, reducing costs while increasing reliability and throughput. She has led teams of IT audit and security specialists engaged in activities including the IT aspects of financial statement audit and internal audit, as well as improving business and IT processes and controls and system security, system testing, benchmarking of information security, IT strategy implementation and outsourcing implementation.

 Harry R. Lewis
Gordon McKay Professor of Computer Science, Harvard College

Harry Lewis stumbled upon computer programming through a part-time job, and
fell in love with the emerging field. Lewis’s undergraduate thesis, written
under the direction of computer graphics pioneer Ivan Sutherland, was on
handwriting recognition, parsing handwritten mathematical notation, and their
use in experimental mathematics. Harry served for two years as a commissioned
officer of the US Public Health Service at the National Institutes of Health
in Bethesda, Maryland, doing work on image processing and on systems and
application programming. Harry joined the Harvard faculty in the fall of 1974,
and became Gordon McKay Professor of Computer Science in 1981. In 2003 he was honored with the title of Harvard College Professor. He is a Fellow of the
Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard. From 1995-2003 Harry
served as Dean of Harvard College. He is a long time member of the College’s
Admissions Committee.

Harry is the author of five books and numerous articles on various aspects of
computer science. His books include: Excellence Without a Soul - Does Liberal
Education Have a Future? (a Boston Globe best-seller and the subject of
favorable reviews in both the Boston Globe and the Wall Street Journal). It
has been translated into Chinese (with Taiwanese and mainland editions) and
into Korean. In 2008 he coauthored, with Hal Abelson and Ken Ledeen, a book on the origins and public consequences of the explosion of digital information -
Blown to Bits: Your Life, Liberty, and Happiness After the Digital Explosion.

Robert J. Vitello is Chief Information Officer (Deputy Commissioner for Planning
and Technology) for the New York State Department of Labor.
For the twelve previous years Robert was CIO and Director of Legal Technology & Systems Management for the Office of the New York State Attorney General where he built a finely tuned electronic discovery support service that was instrumental in the prosecution of such celebrated cases as those against Merrill Lynch, AIG, and Prudential. Also, previously, he served as Director of the Computer Science Laboratory at the Wadsworth Health Labs.

From 1989 to 1995, he was Executive Director of the Strategic Systems
Laboratories, a research and development arm of the New York State Office of
General Services. From 1981 to 1989, he served as the Director of the Computer
Services Bureau of the NYS Department of State. From 1975 to 1981, he lead MIS efforts for the City of Buffalo's grants with federal Labor, HUD, and Justice
Departments.

He is a frequent lecturer on such topics as Service Oriented Architecture, agile
programming, open source development, legal electronic discovery, and enterprise technology management.

Robert is a member of the New York State CIO Council, and a member of the
Economic Security and Human Services Advisory Board. He is a member of the
National Association of State Workforce Agencies Technology Committee. He sits
on various OASYS standards committees, including legalXML and SOA Reference
Architecture. He was Chair of the Office of General Services Computer Center
Advisory Board, which was a precursor to today's Office for Technology, and is a
former member of the Government Open Code Consortium.

Dennis E. Wisnosky

Dennis is the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of the Department of Defense (DoD)
Business Mission Area within the office of the Deputy Under Secretary of

Mark Bregman

Tom Bishop

As Senior Vice President, he oversees a team of nearly 200 business continuity experts working in the field with end users to help them develop and implement their information availability strategies – representing more than 400 customer engagements annually.

Prior to joining SunGard, Bill served as a Records Manager and Business Continuity Manager for a large insurance carrier. He was also a Legislative Information Specialist for the US House of Representatives and Information Technology Analyst for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Tim Cowen
Chairman, IACCM
General Counsel, Commercial Director, BT Global Services

Since November 2002, Tim has been General Counsel for BT Global Services. Prior to that he was General Counsel of BT Ignite. He became General Counsel and Commercial Director in May 2004 to reflect his expanded responsibilities for the worldwide commercial contracts teams in BT. He is a member of the BT Global Services Executive Team, with director-level responsibility. He leads and manages Commercial Legal and Regulatory teams across 20 business locations in continental Europe, the US and Asia Pacific and is responsible for all law and regulation covering a wide variety of issues involving Commercial Contracts with customers and suppliers, Telecoms Law and Regulation litigation, etc.

He has personally led the negotiations of some of BT’s largest corporate transactions and commercial deals, in particular the outsourcing and ICT deals for which BT Global Services has become renowned.

Tim originally joined BT in 1991 from private practice as a European lawyer in the Regulatory, Competition and Public Law Division. From 1994 to 1999, he was Head of European Law, responsible for all aspects of EU law and Telecommunications Regulation affecting the BT Group and was the Head of the Legal and Regulatory team dealing with deregulation and worldwide alliances. He was an integral member of the BT team involved in BT’s first wave of international expansion, with much of the 1990s being spent on one deal or another; BT/MCI(1), FT/DT/Sprint, Global One, BT/MCI(2), BT/Viag Interkom, BT/Telfort, BT Banco Santander, BT/Telenordia, BT/AT&T and BT/AT&T Concert Unwind. From 1999 to 2000 he was promoted to Chief Counsel for Competition Law and Public Policy, managing teams lobbying on EU and UK legislation as well as leading transactional work on BT's major transactions and oppositions to deals and developments. He led the combined BT/AT&T team making representations on the Worldcom MCI/Sprint transaction, one of the few decisions blocked by the European Commission; which changed the shape of the communications industry. He won the prestigious De Somogyi Award for European Law.

From early work on deregulation and liberalisation of markets during the 1980’s Tim has been involved in the International Chamber of Commerce working groups and is now BT’s ICC Council member. Tim has been a member of the Ad-hoc Council for Europe for about 5 years and represents BT on the Competition Working Group at the European Round Table.

He Chairs the Development Board of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) and is a member of the CBI Competition Panel.

In 2006 he was elected to the Board of the International Association of Commercial Contract Managers (IACCM).

In 2007 Tim was elected to the Chairmanship of IACCM.

He is regularly invited to speak at International conferences on management of commercial/legal departments, and issues relating to multinational trading. He has written several academic papers which include: - “Toward a Matrix Infrastructure”: Fordham Corporate Law Institute, 1995; “Computer Law”, Chris Reed Ed. 2000; “EEC Law and Information Technology”, “Information Technology and the Law”, 1990; “Applied Computer and Communications Law”, 1990; “Opening the Market for Data Transmission in the EC”, 1989.

Mario Lavoie

Mario T. Lavoie is Vice-president, Contracts & Negotiations, Global - IBM Corporation. From October 2002 to October 2007, Mario was with Contracts & Negotiations - IBM Europe/Middle East/Africa, and posted in Paris with a responsibility for the negotiation and management of all IBM commercial contracts in EMEA with a team of 350 professionals. From 1993 to 2002, Mario was Vice-president and General Counsel for ISM Information Systems Management Corporation (an IBM Canada subsidiary) and Assistant General Counsel and Director, Contracts & Negotiations for IBM Canada, and posted in Toronto with a responsibility for the negotiation and management of all IBM commercial contracts in Canada with a team of about 40 professionals. From 1991 to 1993, Mario was Senior Counsel for a marketing division of IBM Corporation posted in Somers, NY. Prior to 1991, he held various managerial positions in the Legal department of IBM Canada posted in Montreal and Toronto.

Mario is a lawyer, a member of the Quebec Bar (1974), and is a speaker on the subject of outsourcing and negotiations to various groups including the Ontario Bar Association and the Toronto Computer Lawyers Group.

Robert G. DiGiaro

Rob is the Director of IT Sourcing America with Credit Suisse. He is responsible for the sourcing of all Software, Hardware, Market Data, Professional Services, Offshoring, and Outsourcing Governance.

Prior to Credit Suisse, Rob worked for Merrill Lynch and has held several positions supporting the technology and business groups within the firm. He has led the Global Managed Desktop Services outsourcing program, where his mission was to perform a detailed evaluation of internal processes and TCO analysis of the firm's desktop support, which addressed 70,000 desktops in
37 countries. In the course of meeting all of his objectives, he negotiated and transitioned outsourcing contracts valued in excess of $300 Million.

Prior to Merrill Lynch, Rob worked for Nomura Research Institute America for eight years and was responsible for capacity planning, and mainframe technology sourcing.

Stanley Crane

Stanley was one of the founders of 2 Internet startups: MaxMiles, an automated frequent flier mileage aggregator, and Shopping@Home, which was acquired by Allscripts in 1999.
