Chief Information Officer and Director of Information
Technology Services at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, WA
PNNL is a Department of Energy Office of Science national laboratory that solves
complex problems in energy, national security and the environment, and advances
scientific frontiers in the chemical, biological, materials, environmental and
computational sciences. PNNL employs 4,200 staff, has a $750 million annual
budget, and has been managed by Ohio-based Battelle since the lab's inception in
1965.
Jerry is responsible for IT Infrastructure involved in the information intensive
business of scientific research and technology development, including a high
performance network supporting one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers,
unique information discovery and retrieval tools, and trusted capabilities for
collaborating with researchers world-wide.
Jerry also represents PNNL interests concerning information technology to DOE
and other federal and state agencies, and develops strategic relationships with
other Battelle and DOE laboratories, universities, business partners, and
suppliers.
Jerry chairs the DOE National Laboratories CIO Council and the Virtual
Possibilities Network (VPnet) Board of Directors, and represents PNNL in the

Sandra is a program manager in Yankee Group’s Enterprise Research group with
expertise in managed services—specifically network, security and enterprise
mobility. Her research focuses on the SMB, mid-market and enterprise space

direction and growth of the managed services space. She is also responsible for

Bob Keefe has more than 25 years experience in information systems having begun
his career in the medical industry working with Brookhaven National Laboratories
and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. He worked with Kraft Foods for twelve years holding
several systems management positions. He then joined ConAgra Foods serving as
Vice President and Chief Information Officer for their refrigerated foods
division. He was previously Vice President and Chief Information Officer for
Russell Corporation based in their Atlanta headquarters. Currently, Bob's
position is Senior VP and Chief Information Officer for Mueller Water Products,
Inc. located in Atlanta, GA.
Bob is active with Atlanta’s technology community serving with United Way's Tech
Initiative, Women in Technology's outreach program and TechBridge's non-profit
advocacy. He is also involved with local business schools: a "Mentor in
Residence" at Georgia Tech, on the advisory board at University of Alabama and a

Dan Ariely is the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Behavioral Economics at MIT,
where he holds a joint appointment between MIT's Program in Media Arts and
Sciences and the Sloan School of Management. He is also a visiting scholar

Study at Princeton.
At MIT, Dan is the principal investigator of the Media Lab's eRationality

Elizabeth Hackenson is the Chief Information Officer for Alcatel-Lucent and
was named to this position at the time of the merger between Alcatel and
Lucent Technologies. She previously had been CIO for Lucent. Before joining
Lucent in April of 2006, she held the position of Executive Vice President
and Chief Information Officer for MCI. During her five years at MCI, Ms.
Hackenson held several senior positions in the company’s IT and supply chain
organizations, leading various transformation projects, including the
development of a centralized shared service model and a state-of-the-art
customer self-service portal infrastructure.
Prior to MCI, she worked for UUNET for three years, where she managed the
development of Internet products and implemented web-based tools for the
company’s supply chain, resulting in additional revenue and a more
cost-effective customer service process. Earlier in her career she worked
for Concert Communication, where she was responsible for leading the
development and deployment of the company's flagship voice product. She also
has held IT management positions at EDS, Computech, TRW and Grumman &
Sperry.

Wendy Bell is the Global Chief Information Officer for Fleet Services. Her

States.
Wendy began her career with GE in 1981 in the Information Management
Leadership Program (IMLP). After two years as an IMLP, she went on to and
graduated from the Financial Management Program (FMP). Wendy has held a

Ashok brings over 20 years of strong technical experience to his position at

launch of Hagglezone.com. As director of creative development for Cendant
Interactive, Jack was responsible for web standards and innovation for
Cendant’s portfolio of corporate websites, including Netmarket,

Brian Shield

Brian P. Shield is executive vice president and chief information officer of
The Weather Channel, Inc., a position he has held since joining the company
in 1998.
Brian is also responsible for designing and delivery all TWC technology
products and services including: ITV, VOD and industry leading digital video
solutions for cable, satellite and telecommunication distributors. Products
and content delivery services extend across The global marketplace of The
Weather Channel. These include: on-air products, radio, newspaper, and

Prior to joining The Weather Channel in 1998, Brian served as CIO of FTD

firm of Scudder Kemper, in Boston, and formerly with Wang Laboratories.

Dennis Quan is the chief technology officer for IBM's Blue cloud

Internet Scale (Cloud) Computing university collaboration partnership

Dennis's department is responsible for the development of Cloud Computing

academic data center, the University of Washington, Almaden, and the IBM
